Our history over the years

The Quest journey begins

  • Dreams become reality with a project from General Electric. Co-founders Ajit and his friend Aravind set the wheels in motion and launched Quest
  • The initial logo was designed by the founders, with the help of Aravind’s wife. It captured the idea of a Quality Engineering company with Software Technology - Quest. The stylized Q represented a magnifying glass and the globe. And so, Quest was born

1997

Ordinary people achieving extraordinary things

  • The vision to solve the world’s hardest engineering problems took flight from a tiny 200 sq. ft office above a fire station in Schenectady, NY
  • We also opened our first office in Bengaluru

1998

Steering into new directions

  • Our passion for automotive excellence was fast-tracked, with the acquisition of Lexel Engineering
  • Won our first dedicated local/global program supporting GE Power, establishing the basis for our high-value and cost-effective engagement model
  • Became a Global Engineering Development Center in support of all GE Energy’s divisions centered in the Diamond District of Bengaluru

1999-01

Casting our net globally

  • We opened a dedicated delivery center in Florence, Italy
  • The Yokohama engineering center in Japan was founded and became a preferred partner to Toshiba Power Systems
  • United Technologies appointed us as its strategic partner as part of the UT500 initiative and we also became Rolls-Royce’s preferred partner

2003-06

New brand identity

  • As the company grew and evolved, so did our brand identity. We created a dynamic new logo that encapsulated our ethos of a company of passionate engineers driven by a shared mission to create a better future
  • GE cemented our partnership with a multi-year preferred supplier contract

2007

The sky’s the limit

  • ASE Technologies join Quest, expanding our capabilities in Aerospace & Defense and scaling the company from $2M to $32M in a decade

2008

A winning year

  • As our growth gained momentum, our industry acknowledgment also flourished
  • We were ranked #1 in the Deloitte Fast 50 India Program and #1 in the Black Book of Outsourcing
  • We established an Aerospace SEZ in Belgaum, expanding our team with a further 1,000 dedicated people
  • And we rounded off the year by winning a multi-million-dollar contract with Hamilton Sundstrand

2009-10

Growing our expertise

  • We completed the acquisition of Interface (Spain) enhancing GKN engineering services in UK and Europe for Aerospace
  • Ventured into the Oil & Gas sector, partnering with BHI
  • Opened a corporate office in Singapore and a delivery center at Filton, UK supporting the local customer base, including the Aerospace industry
  • Honored with Airbus’s Most Innovative Supplier award and Rolls-Royce President’s Quality award

2011-12

Diving into new industries

  • Joined forces with Beeken Tech and diversified into engineering solutions for the Oil & Gas industry

2013

Growing from strength to strength

  • Surpassed the 6,000-team mark by acquiring NeST Software, providing a huge boost to our capabilities in embedded systems
  • Gained Zinnov’s coveted Aerospace & Energy leadership status and opened a new office in Houston to provide engineering services and solutions for the upstream oil industry, equipment manufacturers, and other Oil and Gas companies

  • To expand our service delivery footprint in Singapore, we integrated HASK. We also opened a new center in Tokyo to strengthen and diversify our presence in Japan and offer customers more innovative technology services and solutions

Entered the world of Hi-Tech

  • With acquisitions of DETECH and IT Six Global, we entered the world of Hi-Tech and expanded our footprint in the automotive engineering sector in Europe
  • Our reputation for innovation and excellence also received industry accolades. We were recognized as a 'High Performer' and positioned in the 'Winner's Circle' in Aerospace Engineering Services

  • Augmented our Digital & Mobile engineering solutions portfolio by acquiring Mobiliya and Exilant
  • Joined forces with Engicom, adding 100 engineers to GE Wind and HP accounts and opened new offices in Munich and Bengaluru

2018

Expanded supply chain solutions

  • Dakota Moon joined Quest Global, expanding our service offering for the Aerospace and Energy industries
  • Opened a new center in France that focused on aerospace and oil and gas industries
  • Launched the Microsoft CoE (Center of Excellence) in Pune

2019-20

Established Semiconductor offerings

  • Acquired Synapse design to enter Semiconductor services
  • Launched our US Defense entity and set up a TCMS (Train control and management system) lab in Hyderabad

2021

Celebrated our 25-year anniversary

  • To commemorate our 25-year anniversary and reflect how far we’d come, our brand identity got a fresh new look. To honor the anniversary, we pledged to plant 500K trees by 2025
  • We acquired EXB Solutions to join forces with QDSS
  • Adept and Intelizign join Quest Global, enhancing our Semiconductor and PLM services
  • Opened a new office in Kochi, leveraging local engineering talent
