The event, held at the Renesas Musashi facility in Tokyo, brought together 60 students from international schools to provide them with invaluable insights into the semiconductor industry and hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI technology.
The full-day event offered a comprehensive agenda designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world application. Attendees participated in an Innovation Showcase that provided an overview of the latest advancements in semiconductors and AI, followed by an interactive session with experienced engineers from Renesas.
A key highlight was the hands-on workshop, where participants had the opportunity to build their own sample AI applications using Renesas’ Eval kits (Evaluation Kit for RA8D1 MCU Group). This practical session allowed them to experience the process of developing AI-powered solutions firsthand. The day concluded with a career talk and Q&A session led by Quest Global, offering guidance on career paths within the dynamic semiconductor industry.
The day kicked off with an inspiring address by Gaurang Shah, Vice President and General Manager of Embedded Processing at Renesas Electronics, who set the tone for the event by challenging students to think boldly about the role of semiconductors and AI in shaping the world they will inherit. His remarks drew on Renesas’s vision for a smarter, more connected future, and energized attendees from the very first session.
