Challenge

Our client, a next-gen electric autonomous vehicle company, needed to develop a vision-based, AI-enabled Advanced Driver Assistance Systems/AD platform for their upcoming electric vehicle. They had limited experience in this area and encountered technical and design obstacles when trying to create a fully compliant platform that met industry-specific ASIL-D safety requirements.

Solution

As an experienced engineering partner, Quest Global delivered ADAS/AD algorithms on an embedded platform:

Analyzed the client requirements to understand specifications and benchmarked competitive solutions to provide a feasible approach

Designed a high-speed board from scratch with one host computer, 4 dedicated sub-processors, and an FPGA unit that met ASIL-D safety standards

Built hardware prototype with platform software and sample application to evaluate performance

Integrated 6 cameras and sensors into the platform, enhancing functionality and enabling final vehicle testing

Benchmarked the new solution against leading industry alternatives and identified improvement areas

Implemented the system and completed vehicle testing successfully
